Welcome to Tel Aviv! (but don't go anywhere for 14 days)
A bit late, but here are a few photos from my first days in Tel Aviv during quarantine.
On the plane from Newark to Tel Aviv. We all had our own row. Say hi to Lynne, another teacher from the UAE going to my school. |
The three of us who last worked in the UAE ended up being on the same plan from the US. Here we are collecting our luggage at Ben Gurion airport. |

I bought the TV and a bunch of other stuff off of someone leaving the school. All of it was already moved into my apartment and the TV was installed for me when I arrived! |

The Welcome spread! |

Our fridges were stocked with more food that usual because of the quarantine. |
Yes, that is a couch on the balcony. It is a kindness-- the relocation officer thought I would want this couch because it turns into a bed. |
A balcony was a deal breaker for me...and I even have a tree in front of it that adds a lot of privacy--I live on a very busy street. |
I hope you have an amazing year, Joy! Are you having to do distance learning or ‘in person’ school! Here in Mansfield my grandkids are in school as of the 8th. They did the first four weeks as virtual learning, but may families opted to have their kids stay home for a “Virtual Academy’. My son and DIL both teach in a 5-6 intermediate school, and the kids are 1st, 3rd, and 7th. My WA grandsons are 8th and 5th...one is virtual and the 5th grader is homeschooling with three other neighborhood kids with a private pay teacher. It’s a whole new normal for everyone. I am glad to be retired, to say the least. Hoping your year goes well and that you have a great new adventure. Loved seeing your pictures. I tried to change my id to Amax5 but it wouldn’t let me.
